Where is it?
Didim is located on the western Aegean coastline of Turkey, sitting south of the large city of Izmir and north of the popular cosmopolitan peninsula of Bodrum.
A district in the province of Aydin, and a very popular holiday destination with several sub-districts with its most popular destination for holidays being Altinkum, especially amongst British tourists, with many of its visitors returning year after year, closely followed by Yesilkent, Mavisehir and Akbuk which are also popular with Turkish tourists.Altinkum means ‘golden sands’ and with its white sand beached sloping in to the sea it’s easy to see where it got its name.
How do you get there?
The best airport to use is Bodrum of which the transfer time is roughly an hour. This mainly operates for international flights during summer only, so in winter most expats revert to using Izmir airport that is a 2-hour transfer.
